Author SPOTLIGHT-Melaina Rayne

                                                                  MELAINA RAYNE

I am a proud military wife and mother of three kids, two cats, and two Pits, all of which are spoiled. I am an Indie author who currently lives in New Mexico, but I was born and raised in Louisiana. I discovered my love of writing in junior high, but several years ago, I discovered a new love, and quickly became an avid reader of Paranormal Romance. Inspired by what I read, I began writing stories of my own. Now I have so much fun bringing the worlds in my head to life.

Publication date - Fall 2013

Rylie Sullivan hasn’t had an easy life. She is broken, so broken she doesn’t think she will ever be fixed. When she meets Derek, he barges into her life and tries to break down the walls she has so carefully construed to keep what’s left of her safe. When Rylie’s past mixes with her present, will Derek stand by her and help her survive? Or will he bail for the next pretty thing?

Derek Tremaine has had it easy. Coming from a wealthy family and blessed with good looks, Derek has breezed through life. After years of one night stands, and a few half ass attempts at relationships, Derek has almost given up on ever finding the woman for him. When he sees Rylie however, he can’t help but be drawn to her. Rylie is different, more so than any other person Derek has met. Rylie’s beauty- her tattoos, piercings and beautiful blonde dreads drew him in, but it’s her sweet, kind nature that makes him want to stay around and protect her. Winning Rylie’s heart will be his greatest challenge yet, but Derek knows the reward will be more than worth it.

Which is why Derek has no intentions of letting her go.

I drink too much, Swear too much, and Read too much. Yes I read too much. I don't have a filter, and I tend to speak before I think.
I'm a beta reader for many authors, I'm on a few authors ARC list, because apparently I'm THAT awesome. ;) And I also Edit. Not a professional, but I do help a few with that.
I have two children, 5&2, and have another on the way. They bug the shit outta me, but hey, that's what kids are supposed

About this author

T. K. Leigh, otherwise known as Tracy Leigh Kellam, is a producer / attorney by trade. Originally from New England, she now resides in sunny Southern California with her husband, dog and three cats, all of which she has rescued (including the husband). When she’s not planted in front of her computer, writing away, she can be found running and training for her next marathon (of which she has run over fifteen fulls and far too many halfs to recall). Unlike Olivia, the main character from her debut novel, "A Beautiful Mess," she has yet to qualify for the Boston Marathon.

What happens when you lose everyone that promised they would always be there for you? How can you protect the few pieces of your shattered heart that remain?

Olivia Adler is a woman with a troubled past. After losing her parents at the young age of six and being raised by an uncle who she lost years later, she refuses to get attached to anyone, including friends. For the past decade, she has been able to remain unattached to any man, too worried about losing someone to get too close. Until Alexander Burnham walks into her life one night and changes everything. But he has issues of his own. And he’s keeping a secret that could change everything. Will Olivia let Alexander in enough for him to get close and protect her from a force threatening her very existence, or will she push him away, scared of letting Alexander in, in order to protect her heart?

A Beautiful Mess is the first installment of a three part series sure to captivate the heart with a story of secrets, courage, and love.

Recommended for ages 18 and up due to sexual situations, language, and mild violence.

About this author

Renee loves to wear hoodies, is fluent in Yoda speak, and likes to make videos with Lego figures. She is a long time insomniac, but doesn't have the energy to start an underground Fight Club so she settles for writing stories about the characters who plague her mind. She grew up in the Midwest and currently resides in the Boston area, but sounds nothing like Ben Affleck or Matt Damon.

Emerge by S.E. Hall-REVIEW

Laney Walker is a quick witted, athletic, southern tomboy who lets few get too close, using her sarcastic zingers to deflect. She also has no idea how others view her, Evan having protected and coveted her since they were children. But college puts a gap between Laney and Evan that neither of them were prepared for- old relationships are tested, new ones are formed and nothing will ever be the same.

Especially when in walks one Dane Kendrick, not at all the familiar, southern charmer of home, but an animal all his own.

A story of growing up, friendship, loyalty, first love, primal love...and life.

WARNING: I cannot promise that this review won't reveal spoilers!

Laney Jo Walker is your perfect country gal next door...Growing up a tom boy, thanks in part to her mother leaving their family when she was young, Laney is all about softball, her daddy and her best friend, EVAN...they have been best friends since they were 10, when her daddy asked him to go fishing with them, a small thanks for Evan protecting Laney at school, although she totally didn't need it. Yep, her daddy raised to be a strong, respectful young lady. Evan and Laney have spent the last 8 years side by side, inseperable. They even planned to attend the same college in the fall, UGA. Evan has already been accepted, but Laney is still waiting....Just near the end of their senior year, they realize their friendship is growing into a first love relationship. It makes sense really, Evan knows her better than anyone, and has always taken such good care of her.

They spend an amazing summer together, but Laney's acceptance to UGA never comes. Plagued by the distance and temptation college will confront them with, Laney decides its best they part ways as best friends...leave the relationship behind, if its meant to be, it will be. Good attitude Laney. She is wise beyond her years.

So, life has taken Laney and Evan to different forks in the road. Evan heads off to UGA, along side Laney's " other best friend" Kaitlyn, while Laney goes to Southern. Its a huge transition for Laney, but she is determined to put on her big girl panties and adapt! Laney's roommate Bennett is like a breath of fresh air for her...she truly is Laney's polar opposite. Laney being the tomboy, Bennett being the drama queen. Bennett has a very out going attitude and is determined their college experience will be epic, if they just stick together and live a little. She coaxes Laney into attending the *hall crawl*. Against her better judgement, along with Evan's jealousy, that is. But its on this night, that she meets Dane...its really quite the quinky dink, because Dane doesn't even attend Southern, his brother does. But their connection is INSTANT...completely different from the familiar warmth she feels when with Evan. With Dane, she feels a complete passionate heat. Yep, totally unfamiliar to little Laney....she is pure and innocent.

The instant attraction between Laney and Dane grows, as the distance and heartache Laney and Evan grows as well. A love triangle has formed right before Laney, and she hadn't even intended it this way. She loves Evan, forever, but its a familiar love that she has felt since childhood. Everything with Dane is new, exciting and refreshing. Laney is emerging from little girl, to a woman, just a butterfly emerges from her cocoon.

She ultimately has to decide whether she wants to fight for the damaged distant relationship with Evan. OR, if she wants all of the new exciting thrills with Dane.

This book is very well written, captivating in fact. I was pulled in from page one,and found myself trying to peak a read at every chance I could. I LOL'd several times. In fact, I lost a lot of sleep, just because I wanted to see Laney's decision, which left me so emotional, and broken. I flipped and flopped between Team Evan and Team Dane. And I still seriously don't know who'd I'd choose. Both are equally perfect in their own ways, and both are equally deserving of Laney's love. Laney, Evan, and Dane are all embedded in my heart. Stories like this, that stay with me, are a 5* read for sure! Can't wait to read book 2...although the wait may just kill me!

She knows he doesn't do commitment, and that's exactly what she needs.

Jax had always thought of Leigh as unobtainable. Not only was she his best friend's little sister, but until recently she was spoken for. When she propositions him, he devises a plan to make her his, even though he knows she’s only looking for something temporary.

Today, you all will be privileged with meeting the extraordinary author of A Stroke of Luck- Desiree DeOrto.

Author Desiree Deorto

I'm a stay-at-home mother of four (no, it isn't very glamorous unless you have a fascination with diapers and baby puke)who finally decided to grow a pair and follow one of my passions: writing. I've been known to throw glitter and threaten people with unicorns. I hate writing biographies because they make me feel really 'look at me! Look at me!' when I'm really one of those '*waves hand* this is not the person you were looking for* type. I hope everyone enjoys my books, and look forward to providing more books that everyone will love!

Desiree and I met a short while ago, just as she was about to publish her first novel The Prophecy. I reviewed The Prophecy and was astonished at her talent for writing. Through a few facebook chats, we became instant friends. I am now an Alpha Reader for Desiree, holding her hand along with Anna, her editor, through all of her writing adventures. We make an awesome team, if I do say so myself. Desiree has a true love and passion for writing, as well as art. She has a creative mind, and once inspiration sparks, a masterpiece is created. But, I always wondered what went on behind the thought process of a master mind such as Desiree, a few of us "minion" as she calls us, decided to simply *interview the author* !!!

What inspires you to write?

I really don’t know the exact answer to that. It’s everything really. Everything you see, experience, is a part of has a story. And once I get that first thought into my head, usually along the lines of ‘what would happen if…’, the story takes off like crazy.

What inspires your story lines?
I love human experience. I believe that the best books have always been relatable, no matter how far fetched the idea. So my story lines generally form themselves, with me directing them as to the humanized aspect.

Are your lead characters based on real people? In the books that I have published so far, no. But there are aspects of all of my characters that can be found in any person.

Did go the way you wanted it to or did the characters take you in a different direction?
Lol I generally give my characters free reign with the story, as long as they hit the key points and end up where I want them to go.

Who do you read when you are not writing?
Anyone, really. I have a fondness for classic lit, so you’ll always find me reading one of those. This week is The Inferno ;)

So you have an idea for you story; where do you start?
I start by creating the characters. I make full character profiles from birth on. It’s really time consuming but it helps to make every situation relatable and realistic.

Dead or a live, who would you like to eat dinner with?
Edgar Allan Poe. Dead winner right there. I would love to pick his messed up little brain.

Do you do research?

How do you write in- character for the steamy scenes?
LOL I actually ask Jeremy if I get stuck. For instance, in A Stroke Of Luck there’s a scene against a wall. I knew what I wanted them to do, but couldn’t figure out how to get her pants off! Jeremy was the cure for that. I literally asked him, “Hey baby. If you were going to f*ck me against a wall and my pants were in the way, how would you take them off?” voila!
